Frontline Recovery
OUR STORY

HELPING HEAL
OUR OWN.

Frontline grew out of our own experience in the fire service and in recovery. We know the pressures of the job, what follows you home, and how hard it can be to ask for help. We built Frontline to help our peers rebuild their lives and find joy again.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
“We designed Frontline Recovery to be the tailored program for first responders that we would have wanted when we went through treatment.”

With over 20 years in the fire service and more than a decade in recovery, we bring valuable experience from both sides. We understand the pressures of the job, how those pressures carry into home life, and how difficult it can be to set aside pride and ask for help.

Our goal is to share what we’ve learned and help our peers recover so they can rebuild their lives with purpose and direction. At Frontline, we take recovery seriously—and we’re committed to helping those in need rediscover their joy for life through the process.

MISSION / PURPOSE / VISION

WHY WE EXIST.
WHERE WE’RE GOING.

Our mission

To help first responders, veterans, and those who serve recover from substance use and mental health struggles through shared experience, clinical care, 12-step principles, physical wellness, and connection with the outdoors.

Founded by first responders in recovery, we walk alongside our peers with an understanding that can only come from having lived it ourselves. Our mission is not simply to help people stop drinking, using, or struggling—we help them rebuild their lives, strengthen their relationships, reconnect with themselves and others, and rediscover the joy and purpose that recovery makes possible.

Our purpose

Helping heal our own.

Frontline Recovery exists because we know how difficult it can be for the people who spend their careers helping others to admit when they need help themselves. We have lived the culture. We understand the pride, identity, trauma, pressure, humor, brotherhood and sisterhood, and the tendency to carry things alone. We also know what recovery can give back.

Our purpose is to create the kind of place we would have wanted when we needed help—a place built on trust, accountability, humility, service, fellowship, and shared experience.

Our vision

A future where asking for help is viewed as an act of strength.

THE FRONTLINE FOUNDATION

FOUR PRINCIPLES.
ONE WAY FORWARD.

12-step work. Culturally competent therapy. The outdoors. Community. These are the foundations we built Frontline on—and the work we believe in.

01 / 12-STEP WORK

Recovery takes participation.

Our approach to substance use recovery is rooted in 12-step work: honesty, accountability, connection, and putting recovery into practice. We bring lived experience in recovery to the work we ask of our clients.

02 / CULTURALLY COMPETENT THERAPY

Your world belongs in the room.

Good therapy needs to understand the person and the culture they come from. We build care around the realities of service: repeated exposure to trauma, shift work, crew identity, the stress that follows you home, and the toll it takes on our families.

03 / THE OUTDOORS

Get outside. Reconnect with life.

Spending time outdoors is central to our approach. Hiking, surfing, mountain biking, and other outdoor experiences create a space to create community, relieve stress, become grounded and rediscover joy and excitement in life.

04 / COMMUNITY

You do the work. We do it together.

Shared experience helps open the door to trust. Peer connection, group work, and support for families help clients build relationships and accountability that can carry into life beyond treatment.

THE WORK OF RECOVERY.
THE JOY OF LIVING.

Clinical support, lived experience, nature, and movement.

We bring these together to create opportunities to reconnect, practice new skills, and build community beyond the therapy room.
